Hey loves, how has the day been so far? Super I hope. I am on snapchat guys (dobzifingers)..wooooppp!!! Follow me for some behind the scenes action. Today, I am going to be sharing with you a few
common makeup mistakes made by some of us and how to get them right. I even
made a short clip on this, that I'll upload on my Instagram page. Let's get to it then, here's a list of some common makeup
mistakes and how to avoid making them.
Mistake 1 - Over drawing the brows/Cleaning up (especially
the top brow) with lighter concealer/foundation: In an attempt to get a
different brow shape from the natural one, probably one wants to have more of
an arch where the natural brow isn’t naturally arched or wants the brows higher
or lower than the natural brows are, they end up over drawing the brows. Another
mistake is cleaning up the brows (especially the top brow) with very light
concealer.
Get it Right: Visit and let a professional shape
your brows the best way that suits and flatters your face shape, high eye brow
archs aren’t for every face shape. When drawing the brows, trace your natural
brow line as opposed to trying to change your natural brow shape and then fill
in lightly. To clean up, you can use concealer/foundation a shade or two (max)
lighter than your skin shade to clean up the under brow but for the top brow,
use only concealer/foundation that is your exact skin shade.
Mistake 2 – Using white shadow or shimmer to highlight the
brow bone: This is not a good look at all and this mistake believe it or not,
adds years to your face. STOP IT!
Get it Right: Opt for matte shades for your brow bone; this
is a more flattering look. I don’t even really highlight my brow bones but when
I do, sometimes, I use powder 2-3 shades lighter than my skin tone.
Mistake 3 – Highlighting and setting under eye concealer with
very light concealer and powder: Under eye concealing when done correctly is
supposed to give a well-rested look and a highlight that looks natural.
Get it Right: To do this correctly, use concealer 2 shades lighter
than your skin tone and blend lightly till it blends into the skin seamlessly,
then set with a powder 1 or 2 shades lighter.
Mistake 4 – Contouring with very dark colors: contouring
when done correctly is supposed to help define one's facial features but when
done wrongly and with very dark colors, you end up looking you just have dirt
slapped on your face.
Get it Right: The right way to contour is to use
concealer/powder 2 shades darker, place the darker color on the parts of your
face that you want receded and blend until it is seamless on your skin.
I hope this post was helpful, I'd like to hear your thoughts. Enjoy the rest of your week, best wishes, xoxo.
