Hi lovelies, I hope everyone is having a great week so far…..Today’s post
is a new idea I came up with recently for the blog, I’ll tell you how this idea
came about….So, not so long ago (I think some days or weeks back), Toke Makinwa
celebrated her birthday and she posted some pictures of her birthday makeover
by Doranne Beauty on social media which I stumbled across on Instagram. I loved
the look and so did a lot of other people. So there and then while looking at the
picture, I had a light bulb moment and I thought why not start a “Get the look”
category up on the blog where I can do pictorials on how to get similar
celebrity makeup looks. Of course, as always I am open to suggestions, if you
have ideas or have a particular look you would like to me to recreate, feel
free to send me an email with a picture of the look. Now, onto the business of the day..
Here is the picture of toke’s look and below are the steps
to get a similar eye makeup and the list of products that I used…
For her eye makeup, Doranne Beauty went for champagne lids
and a bit of smoked out edges.
So pat on the lid colour. For the lid I used a mixture of half-baked
from my urban decay naked palette and the champagne shadow colour from the
sleek au naturel palette.
Then, smoke out the edges of your lid. Place some black shadow
on the outer edges and blend into the crease. Go easy on the black, you don’t want the edges
too dark, we’re going for a soft smokey look. I used the black shadow from the
sleek au naturel palette.
Next, line your lids. I used the glam eyes
liquid liner by Rimmel.
Line your water line, I used the kohl and contour black eye pencil.
Apply mascara and lashes (lashes are not compulsory only if
that’s your fancy).
For her lips, she went for brown ombre. So line the lips
with a brown lip pencil and go for brown-nude or soft brown lipstick.

The finished look....and of course I had to make a collage of myself with my version of her different poses. |
I hope you enjoyed the pictorial and I hope you learnt
something, I apologize for the poor picture quality, they are screenshots from
the filming of this eye makeup tutorial which will be up on my Instagram (click
here to follow) and Facebook pages (click here to like) this week. So follow me
on these accounts to see and watch it first-hand. Thank you for stopping by,
enjoy the rest of your week, xoxo.
